Acute Care

Acute nurses in patient room

Acute Care services at a Critical Access Hospital are essential for providing timely and necessary medical care to rural communities. These services aim to stabilize and treat acute medical conditions promptly while ensuring proper coordination for further care, if needed, in larger medical centers. Gothenburg Health is a rural healthcare team that stands out from the rest by providing access to expert medical care, state of the art facilities, and modern care for the whole person. During your inpatient stay, we commit to communicating clearly and promptly about your healthcare in a respectful manner.

Pharmaceutical Care

At Gothenburg Health, we recognize the vital role pharmacists play in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for all of our patients. Our dedicated pharmacists support inpatient and emergency care by providing comprehensive medication management and collaboration with the medical team to optimize medications for your recovery.

Our inpatient pharmacist Dr. Johnna Richter, RPh is a highly trained healthcare professional who possesses in-depth knowledge of medications, their potential interactions, and their appropriate use. Our pharmacy team works collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure you receive the best care. Johnna can help you understand the purpose of your medications, potential side effects, and discuss concerns you may have regarding your medications before you are discharged home.  Our experienced pharmacy technician Jody Preitauer, CPhT works directly under the supervision of our pharmacist to ensure infusions are prepared safely and medications are available for you during your stay.
